Shameless self promotion, but the reason for the topic (so... details):

What are your thoughts on YouTube vs. Amazon in the battle for views?
From the perspective of being a creator, I constantly wonder about the future plans of Amazon, and where they'll be in 5-10 years compared to the future of where the YouTube platform will find itself.
As it stands at this moment, Amazon has multiple barriers to entry, such as the paid Prime subscription service, the region locked viewing ability, a convoluted upload approval system, etc.; but many issues they face can be fixed fairly quickly if Amazon decides to shift their focus to the Amazon Prime Video platform.
Because of the problems that Google's YouTube has been plagued with over recent years (favoritism, demonetization, broken algorithms, lack of support, etc.), many large creators are searching for a better platform to utilize. Once again, leaving small creators to pick up the pieces.
Personally, I hope that YouTube gets their crap together and starts treating their creators like human beings instead of numbers and dollar signs. It'd be a shame (and a real pain in the butt) to have to start all over building a new audience on another platform from scratch, but hopefully fans travel over as well.
Anything can happen, though. There was a time when I thought that Myspace would never lose out to any other social network...
I'd love to hear from you guys on what you're thinking about all of this!
