As an avid collector for over 7 years, I got to the point where I lost touch in the hobby. It was no longer fun, I had no drive to go game hunting, and simply, I didn't play any of the 2,700+ games I owned. I sold my collection at the end of December and a few weeks later started over again. This time, I'm doing it with only $50 and will be building the most all killer, no filler collection. Feel free to watch the series and give me some input. Any feedback would be awesome!
There are currently three episodes up with a fourth coming later this week.
Spoiler: Awesome games were found in the making of these videos!
Very cool! I'll be watching these tonight. Love the idea of a series based around this! I've considered getting rid of my collection but between dealing with too many terrible buyers over the years on individual sales, combined with my nostalgia... It's really hard to let go of them. Plus I play them from time to time as well... But just not nearly as much as I'd like to..
I see exactly where you're coming from. I tried going through several different re sellers and it was a lot of back and forth and them backing out. Many were located about 10+ hours away so it'd require a lot of work to get it done. Instead, I contacted a local store and sold it for about half of what it was worth.
The cool thing now is that my collection is much smaller and has only games I really wanted to keep. My new "collection" is coming from a $50 investment that'll be refunded back to myself in the end. Spoiler for episode 4 that is coming out this week, I have $18 more to my name from when I started and have a pretty bad ass collection right now with lots of great games. It'll just be nice to know this is a all-killer, no-filler collection that will end up being free.
