Alyssa Mercante Just Accidentally DESTROYED Her Own Lawsuit...

Writer's picture: Smash JTSmash JT

In what could only be described as a catastrophic misstep, Alyssa Mercante, the disgraced former gaming journalist who was kicked like a bad habit the failing and sputtering 'Kotaku', just effectively derailed her own entire legal case against Smash JT during a recent appearance on David Jaffe's YouTube channel.

This was the ultimate face palm moment from someone who continues to show signs of a clear and consistent mental illness, in my humble opinion. Over the course of the livestream, Mercante made shocking admissions, including one that she had briefly worked as a camgirl—information that directly undermines the basis of her defamation claims.

...and for what? How did this appearance benefit her? There were at maximum... 350 people watching at the peak of a show that in the grand scheme - no one cares about.

The lolsuit, as many have called it, which centered on allegations that Mercante was somehow 'defamed' by being referred to as a camgirl or 'whore' (her own words, initially, mind you), now seems on the verge of collapse due to her very own words once again. During the stream, she casually confessed to doing "digital stripping," a statement that has left legal experts and viewers alike baffled by her lack of foresight. I sent this information to my lawyer Ron Coleman, to which he found very interesting, stating to make sure I archive that one... because... wow.

The Self-Destructive Admission

The moment unfolded with almost comedic inevitability. Mercante was passionately defending the legitimacy of sex work, stating, “That's when people were saying I was a former Stripper and all these horrific things that were being spread” However, her defense ironically turned into an unintentional confession as she added, “The issue that I have and had... is that... What I did, because I did briefly do cam work— just like digitally stripping…”

"If you feel comfortable doing this then do it"

While she will surly try her best to twist herself into a pretzel with logic to explain this away, the reality is, her case has.. no case. It's as empty as the brains of some of these folks out there... And if Mercante continues this frivolous case against me, she will continue to be reminded why she is in the wrong every step of the way.

Take. The. L, Alyssa.

The Lolsuit Claims

On page 22 of the lawsuit, Mercante states:

...and continuing on to page 23:

Pairing this with her own evidence when someone asked her how she got into the video game industry, she responded on Twitter:

As much as I have provided the evidence for her claims in the past, the allegations against me continue:

WARNING: Jump Scare Ahead...

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

That single sentence has more than likely dealt a fatal blow to her defamation case. After all, the foundation of her lawsuit rested initially on the claim that being labeled a sex worker or stripper was false and defamatory. By admitting on a public platform that she engaged in cam work, Mercante has just handed the courts a critical piece of evidence against her on a silver platter.

David Jaffe’s Questionable Commentary

The debacle didn’t end with Mercante’s self-sabotage. Throughout the podcast, David Jaffe, the host, made several eyebrow-raising remarks that could easily be construed as inappropriate, if not outright defamatory. At one point, Jaffe seemed overly enthusiastic about the chance to have sexual intercourse with Alyssa... which was... weird enough in it's own right. Then proceeded to bring up the topic of sex work, suggesting that there’s “nothing wrong” with it while veering into uncomfortable territory by implying he’d be perfectly happy if Mercante performed a dance on camera.

All of these remarks, which Mercante brushed off laughing during the podcast, starkly contrast with her legal approach against Smash JT. Her willingness to be perfectly fine with Jaffe’s lewd comments while at the same time, pursuing legal action against another content creator - only underscores a continued glaring inconsistency in her handling of criticism and defamation.

The Fallout: A Case in Shambles

Mercante’s appearance on the podcast has left everyone who watched it questioning her judgment and intelligence (or lack thereof...). If her legal team had any hopes of building a case, this hysterically bad livestream likely destroyed their broken strategy. Legal experts online are already pointing out that her admission effectively invalidates the statements she herself originally claimed were defamatory.

The livestream itself is more damaging to her already gross online reputation than anything said by Smash JT. Jaffe’s offhand remarks as well - between talking about sex work, combined with Mercante’s lack of pushback, paint a picture of someone far more interested in scoring ideological points than maintaining any kind of coherent narrative.

Alyssa Mercante: Her Own Worst Enemy

This latest episode of a seemingly unending saga coming from Alyssa for attention highlights a pattern with Mercante: she continues to undermine herself in public forums, damaging her credibility and legal standing. From filing a lawsuit that many viewed as frivolous to publicly admitting to behaviors she claimed were falsely attributed to her, Mercante seems to be her own worst enemy.

For Smash JT, this development is likely a game-changer. The livestream, which is currently publicly available for everyone to see, provides plenty of evidence that Mercante’s lawsuit is built on a shaky foundation, at best. It feels like with her, it's always ego and her own narcissism. She wants so desperately to let everyone know just how important she is, but instead, she tanks her own case.

Classic.

Oh - and don't forget - at the end of the day, she'll always be one of the first to remind everyone... It's ALWAYS about the money:

With some luck this lawsuit will lose her enough money so that we never see her again.

I wonder if she has pallbearers lined up for the funeral of her court case, cause that case is dead or on life support and the plug just got pulled ( IMHO ). It's dead and gonna get buried !
