Alyssa Mercante’s Lawyer Just Said the Quiet Part Out Loud... This Was Never About Justice
Don McGowan slips up on LinkedIn, states that the lawsuit is about “making law” and alludes to how it was not about me, not about harassment, but instead... about pushing a broader ideological agenda.
Not that we should be surprised. This dude is nuts... (allegedly) lol...

If you’ve been following my coverage of the ongoing legal drama surrounding Alyssa Mercante and her frivolous lawsuit, none of what I’m about to talk about here should shock you.
First off, let's get to the post from LinkedIn because holy crap was this bad...
And now, thanks to that public LinkedIn post from her own attorney (above), we have confirmation of what many of us suspected from day one:
“Alyssa is going to make law, and that law will hopefully be the beginning of the end of today’s hate-filled Internet.”
Don McGowan, via LinkedIn
Let that sink in.
This ridiculous case, filed under the guise of harassment and “safety” - was ironically, never about defending the truth or pursuing actual justice. According to Don McGowan, it was just a calculated attempt to try and create precedent. A political stunt masquerading as a legal action. A way to weaponize the court system in order to punish dissent, reshape internet discourse, and ultimately redefine the boundaries of free speech. The very thing I'd been saying since day one, they came out and confirmed with this post. It's not about me. It never has been. They saw me as an easy speed bump to drive over, on the way to pursue even bigger fish in the sea.

The Harassment Campaign Was Them
It’s rich, isn’t it? The side screaming the loudest about “harassment” has always been engaged in an ongoing campaign of defamation, bad-faith accusations, and coordinated smears... against me - since the beginning. And now they’re admitting the whole point is to create new law that gives people like them the power to control narratives, muzzle critics, and label opposition as abuse. There's no way this should fly. In fact, based on what i've seen from these keystone cop lawyers so far, this should be added to the bucket of getting them disbarred for attempting to weaponize the law against their "enemies".
Activist lawyers. Geez... I mean damn, guys... Not even once...
Here’s another gem from McGowan:
“This video was taken down by YouTube because she didn’t obscure the email address of the guy who was sending her consistent rape threats… If you ever wondered whether YouTube profits from harassment, note that none of the videos where people are reveling in sending her rape threats has ever been taken down.”
Interesting framing, Don. Except you ignore the fact that YouTube’s policy on displaying personal contact information is consistent, and applied regardless of context. But the irony here is striking: this very logic, if baked into law as McGowan desires, would immediately backfire spectacularly on people like Alyssa and her legal team. I can't help but genuinely ask.. Are they mentally ill? How could anyone not consider the consequences of what they are trying to purSUE here?
Imagine That Law Turning On Them
If this “make law” strategy were to succeed, who would it actually empower? If courts start accepting emotional distress claims based on videos, tweets, or commentary online... even when no actual threats or calls to action are present, well, then Alyssa herself, and Don McGowan by extension, could easily find themselves on the wrong end of the very law they created.
Because once precedent is set, it applies both ways, you moron (allegedly)...

And let’s be clear: their attempts to cancel, deplatform, and defame people they disagree with would be considered harassment under the same flimsy, subjective standards they’re trying to establish. I know.. you're all very shocked I'm sure...
Activist Lawyers Are Playing with Fire
This is the modern activist lawyer’s playbook in full display here: ignore the facts, label the opposition “dangerous” or "enemies" and try to rewrite the rules so only one side is allowed to speak. It’s legal warfare, not legal remedy. And it’s profoundly and deeply un-American.
“I have 0.1% of understanding of what this must be like for her.”
~ Don McGowan
Here's the article from Fox News he's referring to. That’s about the only honest line in the whole post. Because what Alyssa is going through right now isn't some unique, unprecedented persecution... it's the blowback from trying to silence others while claiming victimhood. She is causing and continually perpetuating the very thing she aims to prevent.
It’s not bravery. It’s projection. Like always.
And as someone who’s been on the receiving end of their harassment campaign, while they pretend to be the victims - I find it laughable that McGowan has the gall here with this post to try and frame their crusade as some kind of noble, civilization-saving effort. You're a reject, Don. The laughing stock of the law world. There's good reason for that too.

Final Thoughts
This lawsuit is a complete fraud. A Trojan horse dressed up in legalese and faux moral outrage. It’s a direct distraction from real issues in the gaming space and a direct attack on anyone who refuses to fall in line with an increasingly hostile, ideologically-driven industry.
Don McGowan’s LinkedIn rant didn’t just expose their true motives.
It confirmed mine.
This was never about me in the first place...
This was always about control.
And they should be laughed out of court for even trying. If they aren't, there's a much greater concern going on here, for EVERYONE. Not just me...
