Electronic Arts doesn’t know why they're 'The BAD Guy'. In a recent interview with GamesIndustry.Biz, Matt Bilbey, EA SVP of Strategic Growth stated:
”25 years at EA and I still struggle with the external perception that we're just a bunch of bad guys,”
"We love making and playing games. Unfortunately, when we make mistakes on games, the world knows about it because it's of a size and scale."
To someone new to this company, perhaps it could be excused. Matt has worked with Electronic Arts in one form or another for over 25 years.
Not only is this type of comment completely ignorant to reality, but it shows the absolute disconnect between one of the largest AAA video game publishers in the world, and their customers.
This is one of those real 'egg on face' type of moments. Electronic Arts needs to get back in touch with reality before their entire business model collapses in the coming years.
