Celebrating the new TMNT movie: The First Pizza-Scented Xbox Controller is Here!
In anticipation of Paramount Pictures' upcoming film, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem," a rather unique collaboration has emerged. Xbox is releasing a limited number of exclusive, ooze-green, pizza-scented Xbox Wireless Controllers.
The TMNT-themed controllers add a slice of fun to your gaming experience, quite literally. Built into the design of each controller is a scent diffuser, shaped like a slice of New York-style pizza, that gives off a pizza aroma during gameplay. In keeping with the TMNT theme, each controller is designed with signature colors and symbols of the four turtle brothers: Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo.
Starting from July 24 to August 13, 2023, fans have the chance to win one of these controllers. Simply follow Xbox Game Pass on Twitter and retweet the official Xbox Game Pass sweepstakes tweet to enter.
For those located in NYC, there's an opportunity to experience these pizza-scented controllers firsthand.
On August 2, 2023, between 4-7 pm ET, the Xbox Gaming Lounge at the Microsoft Experience Center on Fifth Avenue will be hosting a showcase where you can check out the controllers, enjoy some pizza, and get in some gaming time.
In tandem with the release of the new controllers, Xbox Game Pass is now featuring "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge," an arcade game that harks back to the 80s, where you can choose your fighter and defeat opponents using radical combos and ninja abilities.
Further extending the TMNT universe into gaming, there's a new Minecraft DLC for the Minecraft: Bedrock Edition launching on August 3, 2023.
You can step into the shoes of your favorite Turtle, explore iconic locations like the Turtle Lair, and save New York City from Shredder.
As for the movie itself, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" follows the turtle brothers as they attempt to win over the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers. The film will be available in cinemas around the world in August 2023, with a digital premium release set for September 5.
