Prior to fan pushback, there apparently were plans in the works for select movie theaters to sell these Sonic the Hedgehog movie figurines to customers.
The statue design is clearly based off the initial look of Sonic from the movie. Now that Sonic is undergoing a redesign, these items will most likely never see the light of day... and that‘s not necessarily a bad thing.
Still, it does make you wonder what would have been if nearly the entire corner of internet gaming didn’t grab pitchforks and torches when reacting to the initial Sonic The Hedgehog movie trailer.
