Alyssa Mercante's Legal Threats: A Tactic to Intimidate and Distract
Alyssa Mercante keeps writing stupid shit ...so I'm going to keep covering it to put a microscope on her actions against the gaming community. She continues to pretend to be escalating her threats to sue me, without any actual reason expressed as to why, exactly.
This tactic is an obvious attempt to intimidate me and attempt to shift the narrative in her favor by gaining sympathy points from the general public...
But people aren't falling for her antics. In one of her recent tweets, Mercante stated,
"Update: I have had some incredibly promising conversations with a few law firms, and I feel super confident in my next steps. However, this shit will get expensive fast, especially if I decide to go down certain paths. Should I crowdfund? Does anyone know any unmarried, octogenarian millionaires?"
This tweet highlights her uncertainty and the potential financial burden of pursuing legal action. The suggestion of crowdfunding or seeking wealthy benefactors further underscores the desperation and performative nature of her threats... But the fact that she insinuates going the route of crowdfunding a lawsuit against my is both hysterical and speaks volumes for her lack of common sense.
Mercante's recent series of tweets initially begins with her expressing dissatisfaction with "certain individuals" in the gaming community, particularly older commentators whom she derisively labels as "thought provokers" and "GG reactionaries."
Despite her attempt to generalize, it's evident from her subsequent tweets that these remarks are directed specifically at me. Mercante criticizes my content for lacking originality and intellectual depth, characterizing it as repetitive and pseudo-intellectual. She attributes this alleged stagnation to my age, implying that my cognitive abilities are declining as I reach my forties and fifties—a curious and ageist tactic.
She argues that commentators like myself suffer from mental deterioration due to our lifestyle choices, particularly our excessive use of social media and limited engagement in diverse activities such as reading books, traveling, or socializing.
This critique is particularly ironic coming from someone who frequently posts provocative images of herself on social media. Her moral high ground seems shaky at best, and following her 'moral compass' would likely lead one ...astray.
Mercante mocks my perceived inability to engage with content critically, suggesting that my mental faculties have prematurely aged due to my narrow focus on platforms like Twitter. She likens this to an elderly person having a lucid moment in a care home, a comparison that is both insensitive and unfounded. Adding personal anecdotes, she highlights my supposed blunders, such as falling for a financial scam involving the Intellivision Amico and misunderstanding basic industry terms and names.
Furthermore, Mercante accuses me of leveraging anger and hatred to gain relevance, claiming that my success hinges on using her image and name to attract views. Her frustration is palpable in her tweets, which also include a casual apology for a typo made during a workout, signaling her disdain for my efforts.
Through her critique, Mercante attempts to portray a segment of the gaming community's commentary as intellectually stagnant and reliant on controversy rather than meaningful engagement with content. However, her repeated ageist remarks and inconsistent moral positioning suggest that she is mentally unhinged and in need of help herself. Her legal threats seem more like a strategy to distract from her own failings and maintain a semblance of control in a situation where she continues to stack up losses.
This article doesn't even touch upon those same tactics used by human scumbag Nick Calandra, Editor-in-chief and cofounder of Second Wind. These people are all the same. Intimidate, threaten, silence, push narrative/agenda. Rinse and repeat.

Wow. Ageist much??
She's obsessed with how old everyone is because she's rapidly aging out of the demographic she was in: a young woman. She's trying to pivot her career from sex worker into journo bs since she can only get jobs as a "milf." Pathetic.
Good job on this article
